This book is particularly special to me. It details the journey of my cousins, Brennan and Jordan, through the premature birth and early life of their daughter, Charlie. Premature birth can be a scary topic for adults, let alone children, so I decided to approach this book through the eyes of a child. Brennan’s niece, Ella, was very young when Charlie was born. When I heard about her comment, that Charlie was smaller than some of her dolls, I got the idea to write this book from Ella’s point of view. I hope that it can help children understand premature birth and reduce any fear they feel surrounding it.
