I bake and cook for myself much more since developing a complete dairy intolerance at the age of 26. One way to ensure food is safe when you have dietary restrictions is to make it yourself. This has become a very creative process for me as well. Especially in baking, I like to develop my own recipes and learn through trial and error. Probably my most successful baking recipe is for dairy-free, egg-free, nut-free rosemary garlic scones with rosemary garlic honey glaze.

Poetry is my preferred medium, but I also venture into other forms of art. I enjoy photography and creating digital art, which has been featured by the Autistic Artist Coalition of Philadelphia. I am reluctant to call myself an artist, but I do because I hope it will encourage people to try forms of creative expression even if they may be hesitant. I don’t write poetry to prove I am something special. I do it to show that, even though I’m not that special, I can do it. If I can do it, anyone can. I take a similar approach to all artistic expression.
